BEHIND THE BAR: DAN H.

Where are you from? And how did you end up here?
Born and raised in Milwaukee. I traveled around a lot before I realized I needed something new and exciting. Chicago sounded perfect to me.

How long have you been with Protein Bar?
8 months

Biggest Passions?
An extreme passion is wildlife,  Its so fascinating and I wanna know everything about it ! Baseball for sure. Also my guitar and kitty (MiLlie), don’t know what I would’ve done w/o them those first few months in Chicago.

A goal you have achieved that you are proud of?
I earned a presidential service medal for my year in Americorps NCCC. Working with a team of 10 people helping communities in many different ways was the most rewarding and best experiences of my life.

What’s your personal motto?
“Buy the ticket, take the ride.” Oh oh and “Mean people suck” :)

Something surprising about you?
I was an uncle at 8 years old.

What is the coolest thing about your PB team?
I’ve been bouncing around stores since my start at PB. The River North team was unbelievable, some of the smoothest shifts I’ve ever worked and we played off of each other so well. Then I was off to Washington and Wells for Team Lead training which was another awesome crew, and now I’m opening stores in DC with the best team. There always seems to be a solution coming collectively from all of us every time a problem arises. Things couldn’t be better!

If you could eat one PB item forever what would it be?
Guac & Roll W/ onions

If you could manage a Protein Bar anywhere in the world where would it be?
In the mountains, anywhere as long as it is in the mountains.
