Where are you from? And how did you end up here?
I was born and raised on the Southside (Bridgeport) of Chicago. I still live in the neighborhood I grew up in and most likely always will unless I leave the state.
How long have you been with Protein Bar?
I been with Protein Bar about a month and a half, so I’m still getting my feet wet (figuratively speaking of course).
Biggest Passions?
Hands down my little baby girl, followed closely by acting and art. Being a goofy actor and creative artist definitely make that 6 year old’s life a lot more interesting, which works out for both of us!
If you had to describe yourself in one word what would it be?
Silly. I’ve learned a long time ago that life is tough, so there’s no sense in taking it too seriously. Coupled with my razor sharp wit I’m able to look life in the eyes and simply make a silly face!
A goal you have achieved that you are proud of?
Becoming a licensed Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. I was at one point very overweight, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to play with my daughter. So I decided I was going to do something about that and set out to change myself and my life. But when I realized how expensive hiring a Personal Trainer was I thought “Why not just spend that money becoming one rather than on one’? A few years and 45lbs. later, I’m now teaching people how to change themselves on my off time for a reasonable price!
What’s your personal motto?
“Work smarter… not harder.” Our day to day is tough enough, may as well make it a bit easier right?
Do you have any unique talents?I can pick up any Video Game and play it like I created it. I’m not sure why but they just make sense to me, I’m like the Mozart of Games!
Something surprising about you?
I’m trained in Karate, Jiu-Jitsu and melee weapons tactics. I studied Martial Arts in my late teens for a few years because I apparently had nothing better to do with my time! Also, I can take apart a computer and put it back together better than it was before. Again just one of those things that make sense in my brain!
What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
Had a child. During the 9 months before a child, all you can think is the things you may do wrong. Believe me there is nothing scarier than that!
What is the coolest thing about your PB team?
They’re all very welcoming and have this incredible teamwork, ownership and work ethic. It makes work totally worth it!
If you could eat one PB item forever what would it be?
The Pancake in a Bowl… My goodness do I love Oatmeal!
If you could add one item to the PB menu what would it be?
Portabella, definitely Portabella… now I’m hungry!
If you could manage a Protein Bar anywhere in the world where would it be?
Next door to my house. That commute would be amazing!
Jason’s LOVE List
Word—Logistics…. That’s just a solid word!
Magazine—Men’s Health. I couldn’t imagine life without it’s monthly style tips.
Musician—I can range from Linkin Park to Lil Wayne with this one. As long as it isn’t Country or Opera I’m listening to it.
TV Show—This is a tough one. Probably Tosh.0 or Family Guy because sometimes I just need some mindless entertainment.
Movie—Matrix. That movie was jam packed with visual innovations and pioneered most of the camera work we see in movies today. Not to mention the writing and storyline were flawless.
Website—Craigslist. Not only can you find anything you need at anytime you need it but the “Missed Connections” are always greatly entertaining.
Place in the world—My daughter’s arms… enough said.
Way to spend your Saturday mornings—Making Waffles, drinking coffee and watching Sponge Bob. Oh Saturday, you can’t come soon enough!
Restaurant—Whole Foods Hot Bar. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t like plus I don’t really need to worry about PHO’s or HFCS and that’s huge to me!
Way to work out—Treadmill Run for 25 minutes at 8.0 mph followed by a functional fitness circuit comprised of 12-15 high intensity exercises. Than I hate myself for like 4 hours…
Way to celebrate—With my goofy family and Pepsi Throwback, cracking jokes and grilling Burgers… now that’s a good old fashion Sicilian Sunday!
