Where are you from? And how did you end up here?
I grew up in the suburbs and fell in love with Chicago while I was in culinary school. It took some time but I finally made my way back to Printer’s Row!
How long have you been with Protein Bar?
Just over 2 months!
My kitties Wrigley & Swish! My husband Larry and I have a North Side kitty and a South Side kitty – though I guess Swish is now technically a Yankee kitty, but we don’t talk about that! I also love talking about food and cooking.
If you had to describe yourself in one word what would it be?
Implusive. I have a tendency to make crazy, last minute decisions. I change my mind a lot based on what happens to be in front of me at the time.
A goal you have achieved that you are proud of?
Running a 5K last October! I never ran before in my life, but I signed up and then had to do it (see the impulsive comment above!). It was so much fun that I am now hooked!
What’s your personal motto?
“If you can’t laugh at yourself, you must not be very funny.” I try not to take myself too seriously and just want to laugh when I do something embarrassing – which is a lot of the time.
Do you have any unique talents?
I have a nose like a bloodhound; I smell everything.
Something surprising about you?
Before becoming a Chef, I originally went to college for Math and Physics.
What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
I went ghost hunting on Cuba Road in Barrington. I didn’t find any though…
What is the coolest thing about your PB team?
I am new to River North, but I can already see that they are amazing at working hard and having fun at the same time!
If you could eat one PB item forever what would it be?
Spinach & Pesto!
If you could add one item to the PB menu what would it be?
A Pad Thai Quinoa Bowl
If you could manage a Protein Bar anywhere in the world where would it be?
Barbados – right on the beach.
