5 Tips for Early Morning Workouts
Working out in the morning used to be my thing, get up, get to the gym, get it over with and I used to have a routine that helped make it easier to get out of bed in the morning and thought I’d share with you a few of the tricks I used. Here are 4 tips to help make it a little easier to make sure you get that workout in first thing in the morning.
1.) Pack Your Gym Bag
Pack a bag with your workout clothes and your clothes for work the evening before. This way, you not only avoid having to pack in the morning when your tired, groggy and not in the mood to workout but you will also be less likely to forget your work socks or underwear…not that I’ve ever done that before.
Packing a bag the evening before will also allow you to place that bag on the floor by your bed so that when you wake up, it’s the first thing you see. It’s hard to avoid the fact that you committed to working out when the bag is staring you in the face.
2.) Leave Your Shoes By Your Bed
This is also another mental reminder that if you just take the first step of putting on your gym shoes, the rest is easy. It’s that first step that’s the hardest. Also, if you tend to do your workout at home or outside, then it’s the easiest way to stop yourself from making excuses.
3.) Get An Extra Set Of Personal Products
If you’re going to need to bring personal items like a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hair gel, etc. just make a trip to the store and buy an extra set that you can keep in your gym back so that you’re not constantly packing and re-packing this for your workout.
4.) Drink a Glass Of Water
The first thing you should do when you wake up in the morning is grab a glass of water and take it down. The water will help wake you up and stimulate blood flow as well as hydrate you after a long period of time without water. Hydration is key to helping you through those tough morning workouts.
5.) Set Your Alarm To Motivating Music
It sounds kind of cheesy but if the Rocky theme song pumps you up, then let that be your alarm on your smart phone to wake you up in the morning. Whatever music it is that pumps you up let it help get you out of bed and into the gym
